Mike Krieger, the Instagram co-founder who’s now running product at Anthropic, offered a thoughtful take on how the red-hot foundation model company thinks about its relationships with application providers — a big topic for the agentic era.

How we will control and interact with agentic AI is still very much an open question. Krieger said that at first he was sure the chatbox was a waystation. “When I joined Anthropic, I was like, ‘if we are still talking to AI with chatboxes a year from now, I failed in my job.’” he said. But he’s since changed his view. There’s a lot of power in the simple text interface.
